Mersin

In the mid-19th century, Mersin, which is a village yet, is named after a Turkmen tribe that was hosted by that period.
In the period of cotton scarcity in the world, the connection of the region to the railway network (1866) causes the change of the fate of Mersin. After this date, the village, Mersin, now becomes a trade center and port city.
The port city of Mersin in southern Turkey is the 10th most populous city in Turkey with a population approaching 2 million.
